Developments

The regeneration of Collyhurst is being delivered in several phases. On these pages, you can find out more about current and upcoming development projects.

Phase 1 developments

In early 2020, consultation started on the first phase of the regeneration activity in Collyhurst: a development of new homes and a community park in Collyhurst Village and a smaller development of new homes in South Collyhurst. These developments received planning approval in 2021 and construction got underway in 2023.

Phase 1 includes 274 new homes, 130 of which are new council homes. The new houses and apartments have been designed to be energy-efficient and sustainable. They have dedicated bike storage spaces for residents as well as parking spaces which are enabled for electric vehicle charging. The streets will be well-lit and newly planted to provide a pleasant environment for cycling and walking.

How have we listened?

Local people played a major role in shaping the designs for the new homes and community facilities being delivered within this first phase of regeneration.

Our extensive consultation process ran throughout 2020 and 2021, as set out in our consultation timeline.

Here are some of the priorities from local people which helped to shape the Phase 1 developments:

A mix and range of new homes

for different household sizes and people at different stages of life: including accessible, family-friendly and age-friendly design.
Spaces for neighbours to meet up

from corner shops and cafés to outside space and facilities for younger people.
Spacious, low maintenance

and energy efficient homes.
Focus on safety and security

through good lighting, enclosed bin storage and parking spaces right outside homes.
Include private but low maintenance gardens

and attractive shared green spaces.
